With the flu season now being reported as “widespread” by the state health department and the first confirmed pediatric death in Arizona from Flu for 2016, please see the following tips from MVP Kids Care…

  • Flu is very prevalent in Maricopa County

  • Lots of kids are sick with flu type “A” which is more severe than type “B”

  • While the vaccine is supposed to be a good match for the types of flu viruses that are in our community, it’s too early to tell whether or not that is indeed the case.

  • Parents should still get their child(ren) the flu vaccine, if they haven’t already.

  • If a child is feeling ill, don’t send them to school or allow them around other children – flu is very contagious.
